I didn't have any particular objection to registering, but didn't 
realize the Trac instance was open for public registration. The current 
issue reporting process may be ok, but it's hard to find any 
documentation about it.

The "Reporting Bugs" link here http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/fipy/ currently 
just goes to the Trac issue tracker, without an overview of reporting 
best practices. You might get more useful issue reports if you had an 
overview of reporting best practices, a form for people to fill out, and 
an obvious place to submit it.

I appreciate all the work you guys put in to support FiPy.
