AIM Hangs Fire

I'm using the new .29b version of Fire, although I
had this same problem with .28b. The problem is
this, anytime I put in my screen name and
password into the AIM panel and try to connect, I
get the "pinwheel of death" and Fire just hangs.
MSN seems to work. I tried changing the port
address for AIM to the same result.

I have even deleted my fire preferences from the ~/Library/
Preferences folder to "reset" the app, and still it
hangs in the same way.

I'd love to give Fire a try, but without AIM compatibility, it's not of much use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
