I started to do it this way.  Then I decided to do it the way I did it.  A
couple reasons.  For one, this way, the window is much smaller, and you can
leave it open to manage your connections without having to have the
preferences window open.  Conceptually, I just wasn't sure that they
belonged in the preferences.  They just didn't seem to fit there.  Plus, if
I had ended up putting the account setup stuff in the prefs, I'd have to
duplicate a lot of code, written once for the preferences and again in the
main app.  I think it works better this way.

But on the other hand, nobody knew what I was working on until it was done,
so the UI is 100% what I thought would work best.  Sometimes I do stuff the
right way.  Sometimes I don't.
