It works for me. I think I told it to use your nick instead of your UIN
regardless of the preference for buddies.

Yes. If you haven't edited a buddy (including changing the group), the
buddy is not stored locally and will not show up in the list until they sign
on. (This is for MSN anyway -- you'll have to ask David how ICQ handles
it.) This can be changed if we want to.

Fire currently ignores FriendlyNames.
