I'm interested to see if anyone has heard anything about Colt's Manufacturing Company's latest round of enforcement efforts re patents and trademarks. I have no argument with their patent arguments nor do I have much argument over TMs like "Frontier" or "Peacemaker", although one could argue Colt's hasn't done much to protect them of late. However, they are also making noise about what I consider to be a public domain "mark", namely, ".45 Colt". If they attempt to claim ownership there they will cause a giant earthquake in the industry.
If this is relevant, I'd like comments here. If not, comments to my home e-mail are solicited.
Thanks.
