Bingo. I was trying to recall such a case, and I think you've
identified it correctly. Springfield, OR. From my memory: The student
and his brother planned their counter-attack. They waited for the bad
guy to reload. One created a diversion, the other tackled him.

Their father was US military, SEALS, perhaps, and had taught them about
weapons and tactics. He also had the chutzpah to wear an "I'm the NRA"
cap to press conferences.



And was the guest of honor at the NRA banquet at the NRA convention the following year.
