I am told that the Senate version of funding for the National Institute of Justice has zeroed out all social science research. It must be reconciled with the House version which did not do that, so the issue remains in doubt, but it makes me wonder if the Bush Administration is moving criminal justice policy to its office of faith-based initiatives?
