   From a user perspective, "gfix" sounds like a tool to fix problems with
the database, so I'd vote to either change the name to something more
generic, e.g. "gset" or "gconfig" or "gtool" (why "g" by the way?), or
to keep its feature set within the area of "fixing problems".

Come to think of it, the utility with the most appropriate name for handling encryption is gsec. I know it might not be the one best suited from a technical point of view, but is that more important than the user point of view?

Encryption is a security feature, after all.

I do agree that SQL is the best place for encryption features, but *if* it is to be placed (also) in a command line tool...
