The repository uuid is intended to prevent mistakenly switching to a totally different repo (and this is explicitly documented as a purpose of the uuid). It would have worked if the way sourceforge did the migration would have kept the same uuid for the repository. Don't blame subversion, blame sourceforge for this screwup.
