If you need the sources, they were always right there next to the 
binaries :)

http://http.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/firebird2.5/

Look for "*.orig.tar.*", "*.debian.tar.*" and "*.dsc" files.

"apt-get source firebird2.5" downloads and expands the sources.
