Docker is a kind of light weight Linux VM system. Makes it very easy to deploy working instances of servers/services in a modular and distro agnostic way. It's been getting a lot of press recently and has just hit v1.0 https://www.docker.com/ Having a good selection of Firebird services listed on the Docker site would be handy, but I don't think this is a devel-list topic, it's basically an admin issue so support or general would be better. And to look at the OP question, it probably is better to pull the Debian package directly rather than compile from source. Looks like they have 2.5.2 in 'wheezy' (stable) and 2.5.3 in 'jessie' (testing) https://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=sourcenames&keywords=firebird Scott ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Slashdot TV.
