I plan to rework every needed bit of the API that may make it better before the final release. So IMO, there is no way to maintain compatibility with what we have now. Since our users do not test alpha versions, and our fellow developers do not like I tell here they are wrong, we'll have a bad API for the rest of Firebird life or we fix them as things are found. Or we're just not prepared to go beta, which will not be good either, as [start read that paragraph again].
