Main problem is that it provides incorrect debugging info for MT programs. May be it's gdb problem, but toolchain is anyway broken. It's code also had some else MT issues (do not remember details) which seem to be gone when switching to xlc. And yes, they took place even in DEV build, i.e. with -O0.
