That's not correct. Both USER and CURRENT_USER are varchar(31) - at least as 
far back as Firebird 1.5, but probably longer.

I tested practically everything before publishing the LangRefUpd's. No doubt I 
will have made some mistakes, but if another guide says something different, 
that's a reason to investigate - not to blindly copy the other stuff into our 
own docs.

In fact, one of the reasons that I tested everything so thoroughly is that I 
often found discrepancies between several types of documentation (IB guides <-> 
statements from developers <-> Release Notes <-> Firebird Book <-> other 
manuals). On some occasions, they *all* differed from reality :-)
