However, for general stripping of sheet metal I will be 
using chemical means if I ever do another one. If your car is totally 
stripped, there are companies that will chemically dip the shell and 
remove everything but the metal. I don't know how you can find a local
 one 
and I have no idea what it costs. Maybe someone on the list has had 
experience with this process. If I ever do another one like my '69, I 
think I would rather go this route.

I kept it moving and was very conscious not to let heat build up, but
 I 
caused myself a good bit of extra trouble anyway. (Your mileage may
 vary!) 
Maybe some can avoid doing this kind of damage. And it may have
 something 
to do with the use of a sandblaster that pours it on fast. Anyway,
 please 
consider that this can really be an issue and avoid the mistakes I
 made!

Another thing about blasting - you need to avoid inhaling the dust, 
especially using sand (silica). Spend some $ on protective gear, cause 
your lungs, eyes and ears are worth protecting!
