Thanks for the offer, if there was a way to get it there, I'd probably take you up on it! It doesn't seem to be related directly with the brake lights, I have found that if I turn on the fan, it also cuts out. I've replaced the + battery cable, as it was frayed at the starter and wanted to rule that out. I've also checked and cleaned grounds between the battery and frame, battery and engine, alternator ground, and voltage regulator grounds.
Do you know what the voltage should be on the coil? I'm getting 7.4 volts. I'm also running a pertronix ignitor, I'm wondering if that's enough voltage? Brian Myers ........................................................................ . Brian,bring it over and well look at it. I can put a signal on the wire and tone it out to the short or open. Of course getting it here is another story. Pull the fuse on the brake lights and see what it does. Also try and operate the flashers and see if it dies.
