First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List

Eric,
I see no one has chimed in. I had an open 3:08 8.2 in my car also. Biggest
bang for your buck is the Powertrax unit. You can install it yourself. The
drawback is - you always know it's there. It acts a bit like a spool. It is
also a bit noisy.
I took mine out and had a posi installed. I also went from 3:08's to a 3:55
gear. The posi is much smoother but was also much more expensive.
My $.02

Subject: [FGF] Limited Slip Diff choices?
First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to determine the best LSD choice for my car - a street car,
but I'm looking for increased performance in (and out of more
specifically) the corners.
Eaton, Auburn, PowerTrax no-slip, PowerTrax Lock-Right...
Is anyone on the list using any of these?
I currently have a 3.08 open diff with what I'm assuming is an 8.2" 10
bolt with 28 spline axles - if that info is needed.
Eric Heinrich
