First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Jim ,welcome aboard......
as Paul says I "never" put the top up, oh well, it does happen ,if/when I get caught out in a shower...but rarely is it up... but when I bought my car almost 7 yrs ago, it had a ripped top, so I had it replaced... I would suggest you get it from a local shop,it will save on shipping and then you`ll get what they usually install and are familiar with , that will get it done right... If you drive yours in the winter and snow I`d go with a sturdier top , but my local installer told me to use a less sturdy top, ..first , it folds down easier ,it doesnt take more space as it folds as a sturdier does , and second, it costs a little less....mine has held up perfectly , cant tell its been used....and it hasn't been used much, but does get rained on once in awhile... I paid $700 installed for it and that included some welding repair on the frame Bjorn 69 vert/HALF member/Houston, Tx --------------------- Subject: Re: [FGF] Introducing me and top question From: "Paul Zarychta" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, 27 Dec 2007 10:17:21 -0500 Welcome Jim! Any pictures of the car? The motor sounds rather cool as well!! You can go through Ames or one of the like though there are other's who have gone all out and bought a Hertz top. Others, like Bjorn in Houston, never put the top up... LOL Not sure on the manual discs but that sure would be nice at times!
