Is it established fact that all first-gen boosters were gold from the
factory? I'm curious because the one in my '68 was black when I bought
the car in '82. I sanded and primed the chipped areas when I detailed
the engine bay a few years ago and didn't see any hint of gold. It seems
unlikely to me that the booster was replaced between '68 and '81, but I
suppose it's possible. Does anyone else have what they think is a
factory black booster?
