No, it's fairly certain that all factory installed boosters were cad plated. If yours is black, then it was replaced at some point prior to your purchase. A painted booster is a fairly sure sign of an aftermarket replacement from a parts store. And if you think about it, replacement of a factory component like a booster during 14 years of service is not particularly unusual.
