My first set of Dougs 4 tubes was in the late 60s in a 65 GTO.
To change the filter I found it easiest to drop the entire oil filter to block
adapter and just change the gasket.
Still not a lot of fun but I kept a supply of the triangle gaskets on hand.
Perhaps the HO/RA filter adapter will work in this case, just remember they used
same
style for big cars but they were thicker.

Subject: Relocating oil filter on a 455

I know I should have paid more attention in the past when this issue came up
but
I did not think that it would apply to me. Can someone give me the run down on
how I go about relocating my oil filter and where to get the parts? I have a
set of Doug's headers that I think are the "shorty" headers. I was mocking up
some stuff today on a friend's firebird and realized that the oil filter will
practially not be able to be removed with the headers installed. Also, am I
going to have issues with the steering gear box?

Thanks,
Dan
