Dont know if its right but compared it to one I had in a bucket of parts
removed about 30 yrs ago so I doubt it was a superseded one.
I would feel better if it was in another inch or so.Hold comments please.

I had a similar problem many years ago. The stud coming off of the block  
broke during a shift and the replacement stud I was given by the dealer was a  
part that superseded the original. That stud was quite a bit shorter than the  
original and the clutch Z-bar barely caught on it. After several attempts, I  
finally got the right one. The GM part number back then was 9786072. I remember 
 that number because I made a trip to the dealer week after week to see if 
they  had gotten the right one yet.
