All of that stuff is basically an asphalt type sheet that adds weight to a panel and essentially lowers the resonant frequency. There are also some spray on and roll on products for the same application. I've even heard of using spray in bed line too. I've had good luck with a product called "road kill", made an old chevy truck door sound like a lexus when it closes. Essentially anything that is sticky on one side and heavy will do a good job. You don't even necessarily need "full coverage". With dynamat you are paying for a brand name, its big in the car audio industry.

Granted I know its not a new by any means but just looking to get rid of the little rattles, exhaust, road noise you know.
