Thanks for the part number. It may have been a jinx, but my bracket broke, also.
Jim,
You may have done it already, but the bracket is replaceable without pulling the engine. One bolt with a ratcheting wrench from below and one bolt from above. I had to start both bolts from above by hand (finger tips) when going back. Make sure and slide the throttle assembly in before tightening (Gr-r-r). Patience got the job done, but a smaller hand sure would have helped.

Mine was the plastic piece that holds the pedal to the floor/firewall, it had cracked ,broke apart...a new one (I got mine from Classic) fixed the problem...the part no is 3863501 1968-69 repro $18.95 its called a "accelerator pad to rod support"...but as said abv. not sure if this is your same problem....no bushing in this bracket.
