A good deep cycle battery works great (and it has the right wing nut attachment posts). I have one on my car trailer and it works great (I have 2 winches on it. One tilts the trailer up so allow loading and unloading and the other one pulls the cars on. Works great). It's also helpful if you connect it to the car via the trailer plug to keep it charged.

Here's a picture of my trailer before I installed the second winch: http://www.apcom.com/fbody/firstgen/67coupe/MVC-268F.JPG

I recently bought a car hauler and added a winch and would like to add a battery for the winch in the hauler. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what the most suitable battery would be. Given that I also have a camper trailer we use every once in a while, I am hoping the battery will do double-duty for the camper as well.

Thanks
