First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I have the same experience in Maryland. They rip you off both ways. You can't win. What astonishes me is on a new mass airflow sensor, they have an $80 or so charge for the core. Such a tiny part has only a semiconductor circuit to be rescued. Do they really take an eight year old integrated circuit, and hang new sensor wires on it? I wouldn't want one that had been in your eight year old car and was pulled for failures. Or is the core charge just a gimmick? You can avoid the excess taxation by buying out of state. Pay the UPS man instead. It is cheaper. It also shows the governor that his cheating isn't so profitable. I live in the land of governor OweMalley. We pay him coming and going. And still, he can't balance the books. Larry

Fellas, I am writing mostly to vent, but want to see what goes on elsewhere. In our great state of Ohio, the parts store charges you sales tax on the core charge even if you walk in with the core. Basically they tax you on nothing. They charge you a core charge and sales tax on the core charge, then refund you the core charge only and the state keeps the tax. This REALLY pisses me off. Another way to get your money from you. I bought front calipers for my 67 from Murrays. They went to do this to me and I told them to stick the calipers in their ears, I'm not paying tax on something I did not buy. They reluctantly gave me discount equal to the tax on the core to make the sale. But this is at all the stores not just one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/> Donations: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/store/cart.mv?999999> FGF Merchandise: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/store>
