I am very similar to Brent, My compamy provides a policy through ING Insurance and it costs less than $200.00 CDN for each of my two birds with appraised values of $22,500 and $19,500. The also cover up to $7500 worth of parts in my garage. My insurance company wanted a professional appraisal done and submitted with photos before they would insure my bird. I believe they require an update every 3-5 years. They covered the car based on this "agreed value" $31K costs me $276.00/year Either way I would recommend getting an appraisal done for your own peace of mind. It only costs around $150.00 and you have documented proof of your cars value.
