Deb, The problem you may have is that the opening in the console is kind of small and the plastic housings that come with aftermarket shifters are so big. I had one in my 69 and it looked rediculous so I wound up putting in a stock shifter. You could go that route or you could put in something like a quarter stick or equivilent and have a leather or vinyl boot made to fit in the opening of the console. Why not try a stock shifter?? Good luck, Wayne I have a 69 with a 400 and a turbo 400 with a floor shifter, does anyone have a recommendation for an aftermarket shifter for my car that will fit in the console?
