Kenny,
I used Dependable Auto Shippers a couple of years ago to ship a Porsche 928
from south Florida to NC. I think it was about $800 from terminal to terminal.
The 928 is a very low-slung car and the front spoiler was damaged during
loading and unloading.

DAS was absolutely excellent to deal with in every respect. They sent a field
adjuster within a day or two and they were very professional, prompt and
through about the claim. I felt that they were more than fair in settling the
matter. Also, the car arrived on time, when they said it would be there. I
would not hesitate to do business with them again.

Before I shipped the Firebird, I would strongly consider having it properly
insured for an agreed value with a reputable company. I use Hagerty and so far
I am very pleased with their customer service. Couldn't tell you about their
claims department, and hope to never have a claim!

As to the Porsche, it was a happy day when it arrived and a happier day when I
sold it about a year later. It was a blast to drive, but finicky, and I prefer
the Firebird in most respects.

Good luck,
David

I need to ship the Bird across the country, and I'm pretty anxious about
it. I've only shipped my old pickup truck several years back, and security
wasn't such a concern as price. Just poking around on the Internet I've
found a wide variation in prices (some for $600, some for several
thousand). Have any of you done this? How was the experience and cost?
And do any of you have a recommendation or advice? I'm still a 5-8 weeks
away from shipping it. - kenny
