Use a dremel tool with a cutting disc. You can control the cut and
heat easily. I have done it many times.

Talked with BP today. They said I could cut them as long as I
don't overheat them. Don't ask me how to do that with out a
bandsaw/constant oil feed. They also said I could use a Pioneer
headbolt washer and double them up. How lame. These things weren't
cheap.
