Got'er in! Lessons learned:

- You don't have to release the clutch to install the tranny if aligned
properly. The plastic alignment tool's tip is quite a bit smaller than the
tranny's. So, you get a lot of play, which causes mis-alignment. The trick was
to re-realign the clutch with the tool. Firmly hold it in place and then
tighten down the pressure plate enough to hold the clutch in place. If you just
put the tool in, it sags from the weight of the clutch and will be misaligned.
The tool will allow for about 1/4" movement in all directions so you really
have to finesse it to get it centered and then hope that you got it. After
doing this the tranny slid into place with ZERO resistance. A shaft from an old
tranny would make this easier.

- Make sure the crank handle is facing the front of the car. It will hit the
top of the firewall (or your cowl panel if installed) when you lower the engine
down otherwise. I had to take the crank off and use a floor jack underneath the
tranny for the remainder of the install to level it in there.

- The Tremec 500R shifter sits about 3 or 4" back from the original hole. I
need to cut a new hole, lol. I think they sell an adaptor for this.
