The one that came with my repo panel seemed too stiff to me so I just
got one from a hardware store. It's similar to a throttle return
spring (just shorter.) As long as it keeps the door closed, that's
all you need.
The only time the door is open is when you set the AC to recycle inside air.

bummping this thread - I am desparlty seeking this part - that is the
spring that is used for the air inlet in actuator kick panel on the
passenger side of a 1969 bird. -anyone have a spare or can tell me what
kind of spring to buy to replace it with?
