I need some advice on troubleshooting the brake system on my 68 vert. Back in June of this year, I converted my 4 wheel power drums to 4 wheel power discs. I replaced the entire system with all new parts; master / booster, stainless lines, etc. Everything was brand new. The master was bench bled and then the system was power bled. It had a good pedal and everything was working fine. Keep in mind I only drive this car about once per week – if that. Now the pedal goes to the floor and seems to have no power assist. If I push the pedal with both feet, I can get the car to stop in about ½ of a block. There are no visible signs of a leak. Vacuum seems to be fine – I pumped the pedal before starting the car, and then held the pedal down while I started it. Once started, the pedal drops a little bit just like it should, so the booster seems to be fine. Here’s the thing; when I took the cap off the master and pumped the pedal, I did not see any brake fluid being pumped in the reservoir. It seems that fluid is not being circulated in the system. Is the master cylinder bad? Is there an easy way to check the master? Thanks in advance.
