You'll have to change the carrier (at the least). I would also
check/replace the bearings while you're at it.
On the transmission side, you have the right cross member (you'll
have to modify it slightly by elongating the mounting holes) but
you'll need a drive shaft and yoke from a TH350 car.

All,
Looking to change out my 2.56 non-locking differential to a locking
3.55 to get
better off the line performance. Also looking at putting in a
200-4R for the over
drive gear on the highway. I'm hoping someone can point me to a
supplier of the
3.55 or 3.36 locking diff that would fit in my '69 2.56 axle
carrier. The car is
an original 350 2bbl TH400 trans with AC car, I believe this to be
most commonly
sold with the 2.56 RE. Also, would I need a different
axle? Ring/Pinion gears?
Thoughts? Recommendations?
BTW, the car now has a '68 428 w/#16 heads in it.
