Can't help you with the pistons but, I have seats from a 98 Camaro in my 69.  
The tracks (power seats) are the same distance apart as the 69.  So they bolt 
right in in the front and are about an inch short in the back.  The 98's bolt 
on one side of the track instead of at the end.  You need to weld a small tab, 
about an inch square, to the end of the track (with a hole in it) to line up 
with the original hole in the floor.
