First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I don't know what happened with my first reply to make it such a jumbled up mess. I sent it from my Blackberry but it was acting up during a call I was on earlier in the evening. I purchased a spring compressor from NPD but it wouldn't go thru the lower control arm. My subframe was off the car when I removed my front springs so I didn't have the weight of the car on them. I wound up running a chain through the spring and both control arms, popping the spindle loose from the upper ball joints and then removing the spring. I attempted to remove my coil springs with a compressor loaned by Advance Auto Parts and it was impossible to get a spring compressed far enough to remove it. Has anyone else run into this type of problem, and more importantly, can anyone tell me where to buy or rent a spring compressor that will work well on the Firebird springs?
