It's not only cooler, it's also a prettier time to be on the road, especially in the mountains of Colorado. 62% of those who responded preferred July/August and 51% preferred September/October. It's not a huge difference and I would gladly endorse a later date. What does everyone think about either the weekend of September 18-19 or October 9-10? Scott , I agree with most of the results, like :" So, it sounds like a two day event in Loveland, CO during July or August, 2010."... with the exception that I usually go to Sweden in July/August to visit kids and grandkids, especially because that's when they have vacation time, and its HOT in Texas.... a 2 day drive in July/August in Texas , or from Texas, with a non AC convertible is not very nice, its most likely 95-100F and sunny.....I cannot answer for others from our HALF group, but I will not likely go that time of year...a few years ago, I could probably handle it , but getting too old for that...lol...
