The hidden plug is accessed through a hole in the back of the block but if
memory serves me you can see it through the distributor hole. The purpose of
the hole in that hidden plug is to lubricate the distributor gear. If you
look at the second last picture on my block page, the hidden plug is
underneath the small brass press-in plug you can see. Directly underneath
the distributor hole. With a strong light, inspection mirror, and the right
angle you might be able to see the plug through the distributor hole. This
Does mean pulling distributor out so you have to watch that it goes back in
in the same position so rotor is in correct spot.

Is the hole located in the rear of the engine where the tranny bolts up?
Shall I assume if I get oil up to the valve covers, This screw is installed?
I am freaking out now being the whole engine is ready to fire up. I dread
that I may have to drop the tranny to find out...Is there any sure fire way
to make sure that this plug is installed without removing the tranny?

No oil pressure in lifter gallery for sure which will affect entire oiling
system pressure and dead engine pretty soon I would think...

Ok so I did not check for that one...Looks like it is located in the rear of
the engine where the tranny bolts up..What is the worst case scenario if
this plug was not installed?

About half way down on this page I took a bunch of pics of the infamous
"hidden plug". Maybe it will help you.

Before I go to start my engine...where is this "Hidden Oil Galley Plug" you
are referring to?
