First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I've got the dual piston brake setup that was correct for 68. Still, I want to know what was correct by way of what was originally supplied. The only way to know this is from someone who really has an original car with the dual piston setup and rally II wheels. Please do not go out of your way to check this since your car is (like mine) something that was not original. Thanks OJ In a message dated 10/4/2009 2:42:53 P.M. First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I have a 67 and 68 both with factory 4 piston set-ups. Both cars were factory drum cars, but in keeping with my desire to be a correct as possible, I put together factory stuff for the conversion. The funny thing is, my 67's rally II's hit (more like tap) the caliper on the face of the wheel. Not the circumference of the rim. Now my 68 has no clearance issues at all. I can go out back and see what the codes are. If your 68 is a late car and has the single piston brakes, then I don't know. JA vs JC Rally II Wheels First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ........................................................................ . Okay, This question has been asked a number of times, but I have yet to draw a final conclusion, so I'm going to see if anyone can offer definitive evidence as to the correct rally II wheel for a 68 firebird 400 with disc brakes. I have a set of JAs and a set of JCs. I need to get my redlines mounted and I want to use the correct set of wheels. Every time I see answers on this, they refer to other sites that show the wheel listings. Well, I've seen several sites and literature that contradict each other. So, the only way I believe this can be confirmed is if someone on this list has a car with the original set of rally wheels on it that came with disc brakes. It seems pretty rare to find a vehicle that has the original wheels and came with disc brakes. So, if anyone of you can positively verify this. I would really like to hear from you.
