Steve, maybe we should ask what temperature issues you are having?
A 77 engine would probably run a fan clutch (which is a good thing). Do you
have one on yours?

As far as the motor mount, the later engines should have 5 holes available
(three for the later mounts and two for the earlier mounts as I recall since
it's been a while) and you should be able to use the stock motor mounts so that
there would be no problem (it's possible that the earlier mount holes aren't
threaded but you can tap them).

I've been running the 1969 radiator shroud with the 1977 400 engine that
came in the 1969 Firebird that I bought. It originally had the 1969 350
engine in it. I'm concerned with the fan not being in the proper position
relative to the shroud when using only stock parts.
I've played with fan spacers and with modifying the 1969 shroud but I'm sure
someone out there has a mid 70s engine in 1969 Firebird and may be able to
tell me which year shroud (1969 or 1977?) that they are using which works
well with stock parts relative to positioning with the fan. I'm also not
sure if the modified engine mount position is exactly correct, but I'm
willing to try a shroud that someone else says has worked out for them, then
modify engine position as needed with proper engine mount templates.  I
would like the shroud / fan situation to look stock even though it's not.
Anyone ?

PS- I will make it to the Cannonbird Run, if my new job responsibilities
allow me.  I'd be driving my creation I call the  'What-If Hurst Edition'
1969 Firebird Trans Am round trip Florida / Colorado.
