hello,
I'm nearly at the pulling out hair stage (and apologies if this is the
wrong forum for this but I've almost lost hope of finding a solution or a
place to post for one).
I want to use firebird 1.5 with a pocket pc 2003 (Symbol PPT8800)
application developed in Visual Studio 2005 (Visual Basic).
I'm new to this and have been pretty overwhelmed by the number of different
packages to install, ie vs sdk, compact framework sdk,
DDEXProvider-2.0.1.exe, FirebirdClient-2.0.1.exe,
FirebirdClient-2.0.1-Compact-Bin.zip, NETCFSetupv2.msi, SMDK-M-1.03.03.exe,
Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK.msi, and so on.
After trying a number of installs I did:
Installed Visual Studio 2005
Service Pack 1
VsSDKSeptember2006.exe
FirebirdClient-2.0.1.exe
DDEXProvider-2.0.1.exe
So I can create a Windows project and add a firebird Data Source. But I
can't create one for a Pocket PC 2003 application.
It tells me "The new connection uses a data provider that is not supported"
any help would be very appreciated...
