sorry if my posting was not well understandable.

I'm porting a software from VB6 and MS Access to VB.NET and Firebird 
database. The database has some tables with several ten-thousand records 
each.

Doing a SELECT including some JOINS on this takes about 5 to 10 seconds 
before 250 records are returned.

Just like I was doing it with MS Access, I want to fetch these records 
asynchronous, so that I do not need to wait until all 250 records are 
retrieved and can start viewing the result after some of the first 
records are processed.

Hope my request is understandable now.
