If this application is multi-user, then most likely Firebird is installed somewhere on a server, not on local machines of its users. Have you actually identified you are looking at the machine that has the actual Firebird database. Another possibility is that the application is single-user and uses Firebird embedded, in that case Firebird itself doesn't do user management, and it is more likely that it is an application password, and not a Firebird password. Also, have you considered contacting support of the company that wrote this accounting software? Mark
