I do not have time to upgrade to V2.0 or v2.5 before the new server would be in. I fully intend to when time permits. Thus, the reason I'm asking if it could be done to allow them to continue while I do the conversion.

Versions of Firebird below 2.5 are discontinued, so is there really any reason to ask? I mean, if it breaks those "they" will have to hold both pieces.
