Certain properties in firebird.conf control behavior for the client as well, for example in Firebird 3 the AuthClient, WireCrypt, WireCompression (and maybe WireCryptPlugin (?)) also control behavior for the client. So you can have a firebird.conf next to fbclient.dll to configure the client. Mark
