What do you mean by "connecting to the server through a virtual
machine"?

A couple of things you can try:
  1) A new firefox profile with Firebug
  2) load a traced version, 1.3X or 1.4X, open trace console from
Firebug icon menu, Options > ERRORS, NET, then look at the log while
you POST.
