I made a fresh profile, installed via Tools > AddOns and restarted so Firebug is the only installed extension. The bug icon is orange and the tooltip says "Firebug 1.3.0". Checking Script, Net and Console panels I can see they are all set to "Disabled". Right-Clicking and choosing "Suspend Firebug " turns the icon grey (which made the tooltip say "Firebug 1.3.0: suspended"). A single left-click on the bug icon not only shows the Firebug window but also turns the icon orange again (that wasn't how it worked in 1.2.1). A second left-click closes the Firebug window but leaves the icon orange. And finally, when I suspend Firebug and restart Firefox the bug icon displays orange again.
