That sounds like the Firefox 3.0.7 problem. Another workaround for
that problem is to use Firefox 3.0.6.

All versions of Firebug are available on getfirebug.com/releases; in
addition, addons.mozilla.org has 1.2.1 and other versions released by
amo.
