I decided to try and run with the Chromebug 1.5 available from http://code.google.com/p/fbug/source/browse/#svn/chromebug/branches/chromebug1.5. I'm also running Firebug 1.4X.0a24.
Attempting to do so in either Firefox 3.5b5pre or the latest Minefield load resultes in a crash. It crashes when a page tries to load in the browser window with the ChromeBug window open. So it crashes immediately unless the browser is set to display a blank page at startup. Otherwise it crashes when the user tries to go to any page. If I close the ChromeBug window before going to a page in the browser window, it won't crash. I figured it would be a good idea to file the crash as a bug with Firefox (technically Core), but I wanted to make sure it's actually a problem with Firefox first and not ChromeBug and/or Firebug since the crash seems to be occurring because exceptions are throwing exceptions causing the stack to eventually overflow.
