OK a little more info... if you HTML tab is initially open when the page loads, the navigation vanishes, furthermore if your skillful enough and click the CONSOLE tab w/o hovering over the dom and then use the console to show the navigation element.... THEN simply hovering over the returned link (from the console command) it will also vanish. IF you make sure the HTML tab is not the initially viewable tab, all is well, no navigation vanish.
